Rovinj's coast is a unique natural gem with 2,289 hectares of protected green areas, 14 islands, islets, and 6 cliffs. The sea is exceptionally clean, attracting diving and snorkeling enthusiasts. The 67 km shoreline offers many beaches, which we will shortly present to you below.
BALUOTA BEACH more known as beach MONTE upon the locals
The beach is around 150 m long and is located on the west side of the old town.
It is mostly rocky with little pebble parts.
Monte is the only coastal beach located in the strict centre of the town with a beautiful view of our church St. Euphemia.
At evening, this beach turns into a romantic and charming spot ideal to watch the sunset, and if you are in luck, to catch a glimpse of dolphins.
MULINI BEACH
The beach with an accessible shore, linked to the town's marina, is located a short and relaxed 10-minute walk, south of the old town.
It was completely remodelled in 2014 and is now a combination of contemporary luxury and local tradition.
Mulini offers a beach bar, an ideal place to enjoy a late breakfast or lunch on the beach, relax with cocktails and watch the sunset.
ZLATNI RT (PUNTA CORRENTE)
Many beaches are located within the park forest Zlatni Rt, mostly composed of rock and gravel sections.
The whole area is full of native plant species and exotic trees that were planted over the years.
Thanks to the wide meadows and forests, the place is ideal for sports lovers, children, as well as for a relaxing picnic with family or friends.
For adrenaline lovers, there is also a popular climbing wall, located inside a former quarry.
Some of the beaches that you can find at Zlatni Rt are:
- LONE BEACH - After the renovation it became the most famous and visited beach in Rovinj. Located at the entrance of park forest Zlatni Rt, it provides a beautiful view of the old town and the island of St. Catherine. Since located close to the old town (15-minute walk) and numerous hotels of the highest quality, it is enriched with new sunbathing areas and additional facilities. The beach is covered with gravel and is suitable for families with children. For those wanting privacy, there are smaller rocky beaches in the vicinity
- BEACH ŠKARABA - Bay Škaraba is located within the forest park "Zlatni Rt", about 3km from the city centre. The coast is covered by panel shaped cliffs which lead you right into the sea. It is suitable for sunbathing or for jumping in the water.
KUVI BEACH
situated close to the tourist village of Villas Rubin, is approximately 3 km from the town centre, boasting a coastline of about 1 km.
This section of the coast is highly frequented due to its gravel and pebble composition, along with convenient sea access.
Amenities nearby include restaurants, bars, showers, and a sports centre offering loungers and canoes. The beach caters to both sun enthusiasts and those seeking shaded relaxation beneath the trees.
PORTON BIONDI BEACH
located on the north side of the old town, is consisting of concrete and gravel.
Green areas will be found next to the beach, perfect for sunbathing and relaxing.
The beach does not offer natural shade from the sun but the bars and restaurants that are located there offer umbrellas and lounge chairs.
The view for Porton Biondi is beautiful, offering a direct look at the old town of Rovinj.
VAL DE LESSO / AMARIN (BORIK)
Borik is a landscaped local beach, intended for families with children.
A paved promenade 170 m long is connected to the beach with seven accesses and a green zone and two large plateaus for sunbathing, and a special part of the beach is intended for dogs.
The beach has pleasant and safe access to the sea for people with disabilities and reduced mobility
In the middle part there is a children's playground and a parking area in the forest part.
BEACH CISTERNA
Cisterna Bay is about 6 km from Rovinj, so you must go to that part of the coast by car.
The beaches in Cisterna bay are the most beautiful on the entire southern coast of Rovinj.
There are two large bays with beautiful snow-white pebbles, and about 10 meters into the sea, a sandy bed that you can stand on during low tide.
THE ISLAND OF ST. ANDRIJA
Island St. Andrija, also known as the Red Island, is the largest uninhabited island of Rovinj’s archipelago.
It is connected by a causeway to the islet of Maškin, where there are a large number of beautiful beaches.
Well preserved rocky and pebble beaches are especially suitable for children and the elderly.
On the west side of the island of Sv. Andrija, there are several higher rocks that allow you to jump into the sea, and on that side of the island you will find your corner more easily,
avoiding crowds and noise. Boats to the island depart from the city centre every hour and the ride takes about 15 minutes.
THE ISLAND OF ST. KATARINA
St. Katarina Island is one of the most beautiful islands of Rovinj’s archipelago and is located only a few hundred meters from the city centre.
Boats to the island of St. Catherine depart from the city centre every hour and the ride takes 5 minutes.
Most visited rocky beaches, with accessible bays, are located on the eastern side of the island.
Famous island cliffs are located on the north-western side of the island and are called: Golden, Silver and Bronze, suitable for lovers of cliff jumping, with hights up to 15 meters.
HIDDEN BEACHES
Attractive hidden beaches are located on islands Figarola, Šturago, St. Ivan, Polari, Gustinja, Big and Little sister. In addition to the beaches mentioned above, lovely beaches are located in the resorts Amarin, Villas Rubin, Valalta (FKK), Valdaliso and camps Polari and Veštar.
